Monsignor Báez: "The fight to be independent continues!"

This Wednesday, June 14, the Government of Spain nationalized 29 more Nicaraguans who were declared stateless by the administration of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo in February 2023.

The notification was made public through the Official State Gazette (BOE). In the list of the new nationalized stands out Monsignor Silvio Baez, who lives in forced exile in the United States; and the Father Uriel Vallejowho was in charge of the Divine Mercy Church in Sébaco and who was forced to leave the country last year after the constant siege by the regime.

Government of Pedro Sánchez nationalizes another 29 Nicaraguans declared stateless as Spaniards.

The granting of nationality to citizens who were denationalized by Ortega in February 2023 is done by Nature letter, an exceptional and much faster procedure, which prevents them from remaining stateless for a long time.

Spain was the first country in the international community to offer to grant nationality to the 222 Nicaraguans who were exiled on February 9. The same offer was extended on February 15 when the regime declared another group of 94 opponents stateless.

In this way, there are already 75 Nicaraguans that the government of Pedro Sánchez nationalizes. Previously, Spain had offered Spanish nationality to the more than 300 stateless persons.
