The prosecutors in charge of the case of Sexual Crimes, Alicia Ghione, María José Brisco and Mariela Betancor, have carried out an interrogation in the last hours of a young man who claims to have had sexual encounters with the senator of the National Party, Gustavo Penadés (now voluntarily separated from that political force), when he was still a minor. This information has been reported and confirmed by various national media.
According to sources close to the case, so far there are nine victims who have testified that they had relations with the nationalist parliamentarian during his minority stage.
Likewise, it has been reported that in the coming days advance statements of the victims will be carried out and that the Prosecutor’s Office intends to preserve the identity of those affected, keeping it anonymous. The latter to ensure the safety and integrity of the complainants.
The first complaint made by Romina Celeste has generated a strong internal impact in the National Party from the beginning, and has given rise to a series of events that have highlighted the seriousness of the Penadés case.
Victims will declare confidentially
The victims will testify in a way that neither Senator Penadés nor his lawyer, or the history professor, Sebastián Mauvezín, nor his lawyer will be seen personally.
Mauvezín is pointed out by several of the complainants as an alleged link between the minors and Penadés, but he denies any relationship and claims to be the victim of a smear campaign against him.
