The Cuban discus thrower Silinda Morales triumphed this Wednesday at the Castellón Provincial Council Meeting, in Spain, thanks to an excellent record of 65.06 meters with which she surpassed her personal best.

The young athlete, only 22 years old, managed this shot on her last attempt, to improve by almost two meters her best historical result in throwing the discus.

In addition, during the contest he made other good shipments over 62 meters, although it was the last one that allowed him to lead the competition. Until then, the title was in the hands of Denia Caballero, also Cuban, who threw up to 63.07 and finally won the silver medal.

His shot in Castellón allowed Morales to rise to tenth place in the world ranking in the season, and place himself in the same position in the Cuban list of all time, according to review the official site cubadebate.

In addition, Cuba won another three titles at the meeting in the Spanish town, through the short hurdler Greysis Roble, the pole vaulter Aslín Quiala and the 400th runner Roxana Gómez.

Roble was the fastest in the 100 meter hurdles and was on the verge of going under 13 seconds. Her time of 13.01 represented her best time of the year and helped her to surpass the Spanish Teresa Errandonea Fernández (13.17 s) and the Cuban Keily Linet Pérez (13.25) on the podium.

Meanwhile, the pole vaulter Aslín Quiala shared first place in her discipline with the Brazilian Juliana de Menis Campos. Both exceeded 4.26 meters, a poor height in the international concert, but enough to dominate the test in Castellón.

In the 400 meters, Roxana Gómez reached the finish line after going around the oval in 51.13 seconds. The Ecuadorian Nicole Caicedo (51.71 s) and the Brazilian Tabata Vitorino (52.29 s) were her closest escorts.
