Advantages for the consumer

The aforementioned list, always made up of nine products, is renewed biweekly and contains a selection of products that should be purchased, because they have an abundant presence in the market -the majority are of seasonal production- and have a convenient price.

The increased intake of these products is a highly relevant benefit, given the inclusion in the diet of more portions of healthy and nutritious foods. Daily consumption in Uruguay is 287 grams when the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends a minimum of 400 grams.

At once, it is a factor of support to the farmerswho given a greater demand would be placing their products more fluidly, a valuable aspect especially in areas in which a large volume has been obtained from farms and whose commercialization is more difficult.

In this link access to a description of the properties of these nine products and the recommended conservation methods.
