He 15 th of May a 17-year-old teenager went to a spa clinic called Stetic Clinic, to undergo a medical procedure called ‘miniliposuction’. Five days after the intervention, the minor presented pain in her body and she was transferred as an emergency to a hospital where fell into intensive care to date.
The family’s attorney, Steven Heredia, reported that the intervention was performed by a dentist, who collected the sum of Bs. 5,000 without the authorization of the parents. In addition, he stated that the spa did not have an operating license.
Given the state of health of the minor who turned 18 a few days ago, the defense filed a complaint with the Public Ministry against the dentist for the alleged crime of very serious injuries. The lawyer stated that there would be other victims two more of the woman whom he assures is not a plastic surgeon.
“More victims appeared from the city of La Paz, one of them contacted me and assured that she was operated on by the same doctor,” he said.
The case was brought to the attention of the Departmental Health Service (Headquarters), who through their staff arrived on Monday, June 12, to said spa, located in the Estación Argentina area, and they proceeded to close it because it did not have the operating license
and for performing invasive medical procedures. The lawyer affirmed that during the inspection carried out by the personnel of the Government an inadequate environment with obsolete instruments was found.This Tuesday, June 13, the dentist had to go to the Headquarters to present her pertinent documentation, however, she did not come and this set off the alarms even more of the victim’s relatives who are now demanding that an immigration alert be activated.
“The complaint has already been made, the summons is already there, we are going to request the migration alert. If it did not appear in an administrative matter, what will it be like in criminal matters,” added Heredia, in time to point out that the defendant is not part of the College of Dentists.
The prosecutor assigned to the case, Ilsen Navas, reported that the complaint from the next of kin was received and that the investigation was initiated against the dentist for the alleged crime of culpable injury.
“All the requirements were made, we are waiting for a response and the judge was asked to go to the place. We have not set a date for the summons yet, ”he pointed out.
The victim’s parents hope that justice will be done before the state their daughter is in and find the whereabouts of the dentist.
They pointed out that until the due date with the clinic, where the minor remains in intensive care, the sum of Bs. 110,000.
