Three dead and a very serious girl in an accident in Mayabeque

At least three dead and nine injured – one of them, a girl, very serious – is the balance of the collision between a tanker truck and a passenger truck that occurred in the vicinity of the Bacunayagua bridge, in Puerto Escondido, on the border between Mayabeque and Matanzas.

The victims were from Alquízar, Artemisa, and were going on an excursion to Varadero, reported cubadebate.

According to the official press with a source in a doctor from the Comandante Faustino Pérez hospital in Matanzas, eight people injured in the accident were transferred there, around 7:30 in the morning, four of them “classified as code red.” Two of the deceased, whose names have not been released, died in the emergency service of that center. The first victim lost her life at the scene of the accident, she reported in her social networks the official journalist José Miguel Solís.

Three minors are admitted to the Elíseo Noel Caamaño pediatric hospital, also in the city of Matanzas.

Of the rest, two are reported as “serious stable” in the intermediate care room, two “with care report” and another two under observation.

Three minors are admitted to the Elíseo Noel Caamaño pediatric hospital, also in the city of Matanzas. The most serious, Nayeis González Villamil, ten years old, “in intensive care, with severe head trauma.” Estefany González Villamil, 13, and Harly Romero Cruz, seven, are hospitalized but not in danger of death.

According to data from the National Road Safety Commission, posted last month, 243 Cubans died and some 2,300 were injured in the more than 3,000 traffic accidents registered in Cuba between January and April of this year. That is to say, that on average, two Cubans die every day and 19 are injured on the roads.
