Villa Montes, Samaipata and Valle de las Ánimas took the laurels in the tourism contest

At the beginning of April, the Vice Ministry of Tourism launched the call for the Conoce Bolivia contest, which consisted of the production of videos to encourage and promote the different tourist sites in the country.

They responded to the call 89 participants, but there were three winners. He first place was occupied by the video of Villa Montes, prepared by Edward Mejía, is inspired by the Pilcomayo Route; Second place went to Samaipata, and the production was carried out by Daniel Aguilar.

In third and last place was Valle de las Ánimas, in La Paz, with a video presented by Rodolfo Escóbar Vega.

Each of the winners had the possibility to choose their prize from among three options. Among these were trips to Rurrenabaque – Madidi – Pampas; Salar de Uyuni and Colored Lagoons; to Tarija, for the Wine Route.

The Ruta del Pilcomayo is an initiative that was born as a family business, and that today is one of the first tourist activities in the municipality of Villa Montes.

Edward Mejía Zárate, author of the winning video, is a trained architect, born in Cuevo, and based in Villa Montes.

He is the founder of the Gota del Chaco brand, also Eco Hotel Gota del Chaco and www.gotadelchaco.com, a digital platform for tourist information in Chaco. Likewise, he is co-founder and promoter of the Villa Montes Tourism Platform, and the Villa Montes Environmental Platform.
