On September 23, 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, President Cortizo and Vice President Carrizo signed the Executive Decree that modified decentralization and opened the pen of the General State Budget so that more than 200 million dollars were distributed without control for finance the clientelism that keeps them in power.
In addition, the electoral subsidy gave the PRD more than 3 million for primaries, which they would do well to return to the National Treasury.
Carrizo and his teacher, Benicio Robinson, seem optimistic and very disconnected from the reality of the country. They believe that it is possible to repeat. They think they are doing well. But they do not remember that this government faced the biggest social outbreak of the last 30 years, in July 2022.
The people are very clear that they do not repeat because they did not solve any problem for Panamanians: without water, with hospitals in pieces, without jobs and hungry, anguished by the bankruptcy of the pensions of the Social Security Fund and, of course, with the education of our children in abandonment. Who would choose a resounding failure? Carrizo’s election is a simulation of a national disaster.
The message of the Panamanians is clear: this country is not a monarchy, here there is no crown prince, nor re-election.
