Nicolás Maduro receives Ebrahim Raisi in Miraflores

He Republic President Bolivarian from Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, received his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi at the Miraflores Palace, who arrived in the country on Monday afternoon.

With the highest military honors and with an escort on horseback from the hussars of the Venezuelan Presidential Honor Guard, Raisi arrived at the Venezuelan government house to shake hands with Maduro, who was waiting for him accompanied by the country’s high executive train.

Both received the highest honors corresponding to their positions, with the intonation of the national anthems and the magazine to the parade group.

Earlier, the political leader of the Persian country made a floral offering before the sarcophagus of the Liberator Simón Bolívar in the mausoleum of the National Pantheon, place where he signed the guest book of prominent figures and high world dignitaries.

Ebrahim Raisi made the first stop in Venezuela, as part of his tour of various “friendly countries” of Iran, which will also take him to Nicaragua and Cuba in the coming days.

In it meeting with the president Maduro is expected to ratify binational strategic cooperation in economic, political, scientific and energy matters, amid the Unilateral Coercive Measures imposed by the United States on both nations.

Maduro highlighted on Twitter that Venezuela found true friends in the world, “with whom we are united in resistance, courage and self-determination to continue being free peoples. We will always welcome you to our Homeland!”, on the occasion of the visit of Ebrahim Raisi.

Cooperation between Tehran and Caracas deepened since the time of the late President Hugo Chávez (1999-2013) and has strengthened since then.

In this regard, Diosdado Cabello, first vice president of the ruling PSUV party, described as extraordinary the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Venezuela, which deepened with the current president Nicolás Maduro when he served as Chancellor of Hugo Chávez.

“Nicolás Maduro, as Commander Chávez’s Foreign Minister for more than six years, cultivated those direct relations with the Iranian governments and people,” Cabello stressed.

At present, Iran has become one of the main allies of the Government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who visited the Persian country in May 2022.
