MADRID, Spain.- Carlos Treto Cedeño, Cuban film, radio, theater and television actor, died this Saturday in Havana at the age of 70.
The news was confirmed this Sunday by the Square Culture Department that, from his social networks, he recalled that Treto Cedeño had been part of the Vital Teatro group and the Hubert de Blanck Company, with whom he had recently premiered Witches of Salem.
“We have lost a great man, a man dedicated to Cuban culture, to Cuban theater, an actor with an exceptional career, a very important member of our Company,” express the Hubert deBlanck.
For his part, Leonardo Ruiz, also an actor in the group, I dedicate some emotional words: “I really can’t conceive of rehearsals and plays without him, it is and will be a very hard blow, it marks a before and after not only on an artistic level but in everything related to theater because if there was someone who was on the lookout and moved to solve problems was him. (…) Arriving at the theater tired or stressed because of the problems that we all had and still have people in that country and that Treto received you with a smile or suddenly one of his jokes and his Tretadas in full rehearsal occurred to him was a balm for the heart really.
The actor is also part of the cast of Pending issuestelenovela that currently broadcasts the Cubavisión channel of Cuban Television, where he plays the character of Omar, director of the UEB Terrazo.
Carlos Treto is especially remembered for his characters in the children’s television space word soup and for his performance in the popular humorous Live the story.
He also took part in movies like black leg and Operation Fangio and in various dramatized on Cuban television.
When he died, he was in charge of coordinating the Caricato Award and chaired the section of actors of the Association of Performing Artists of UNEAC.
Carlos Treto was veiled this Sunday at the Playa funeral home, at calle 70 corner to 29, and his burial will take place this Monday morning.
