Hellas Verona prevailed 3-1 on their visit to La Spezia, this Sunday in the ‘playoff’ to avoid relegation to the second division of Italian football, where a playoff was also played for promotion in which Cagliari beat Bari 1-0.
Thus, Hellas Verona and Cagliari complete the team list participants in Serie A 2023-2024, while Spezia and Bari will play in Serie B.
Spezia and Hellas Verona finished seventeenth and eighteenth in the recent Serie A, only separated by goal difference, so they had to go to this ‘playoff’ to find out which of the two should accompany the already condemned Cremonese and Sampdoria to second place.
