After being informed that Caracas will host the fourth cycle of negotiations between the delegation of the National Liberation Army (ELN) and the Colombian Government, Nicolás Maduro congratulated both parties for the agreements reached at the end of the third round of talks, between them a ceasefire starting August 3 and lasting six months.
This Saturday, June 10, the Venezuelan ruler wrote on his official Twitter account that he will always be in favor of those dialogue processes like the one carried out by Gustavo Petro and that Colombian guerilla in Havana, Cuba.
“From Venezuela, as always, we ratify our unrestricted support for the dialogue process that contributes to achieving definitive and true peace in favor of the Colombian people,” were the words outlined by the official leader.
This new cycle is expected to start after July 10; although it is estimated that there will be extraordinary work and in the field by the delegations. This will make the meetings more constant and enter a phase of their stability.

Our country —where the Colombian guerrillas also operate, especially in border regions, such as Apure, which borders the department of Arauca— was already the host country of the first meeting held between November 21 and December 12, 2022. Various Colombian media such as El Heraldo, Semana Magazine and Caracol Radio reviewed it.
This time the two parties set a calendar that stipulates May 2025 as the limit to have signed the first three of the six points contained in the final agreement —participation, democracy and transformations—, which would allow the president to end his term with a pact of peace with the last great Latin American guerrilla.
