The Peasant Movement works from exile to declare Ortega illegitimate

Medardo Mairena, leader of the Peasant Movement, assures that they are strong and reorganized from exile, to seek the freedom of Nicaragua and demand that the international community pass «from said to fact»Taking actions to declare Daniel Ortega illegitimate and condemn them for human rights violations.

The peasant movement is gathering all its members, scattered in different countries, victims of forced exile and expatriates, to raise their voices for political prisoners and victims of the Daniel Ortega regime «We tell the people of Nicaragua that they are not alone, we remain firm to seek the freedom of Nicaragua and to declare the government of Daniel Ortega illegitimate»Mairena points out.

The Peasant Movement works from exile to declare Ortega illegitimate

The leader of the Peasant Movement points out that the opposition organizations are meeting to try to achieve unity in action. The objective is to take Ortega before international courts for crimes against humanity, Mairena points out.

Also, it assures that they are working to bring the complaints of the political prisoners and the relatives of the victims before the international community, they continue in the demand for the return of their properties, which were expropriated by the government before the social outbreak of the 2018, which demonstrates the abuse of the Ortega government since before the protests.

Calls on the international community to help Nicaraguans get out of the political crisis,«we want to give our children a better future and that this sad story does not repeat itself».

Mairena was expatriated along with 222 other political prisoners, including leaders of opposition movements.
