The head of government of the Argentine Republic, Alberto Fernández, announced this Thursday the payment of an increase of 12.28% for retirees and pensioners who charge through the ANSES (the National Social Security Administration).
This is the first quarterly increase scheduled for 2022 and It is expected to come into effect from March.. In addition, according to President Fernández, it will not only impact the retirement and pensions of the ANSES, but will also be paid for the rest of social programs.
The new increase, which is protected under the Social Security Mobility Law, will benefit more than 16 million Argentine men and women who are beneficiaries of retirement, pension and family allowances in the country.
On Twitter, the Argentine president asserted that with this new increase “the country’s pensioners and retirees will start 2022 beating inflation,” as happened at the end of 2021.
Last year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Argentina rose to 50.9%, while the accumulated annual rise of social benefits it was 52.7%, two point two percentage points higher than the inflation rate.
How much will pensions be with the increase
As of March 1, 2022, when the 12.28% increase is applied, the retirement and pensions minimum will go from 29,062 pesos to 32,630.40 pesos, a rise of 3,568.40 pesos net.

For its part, the scheduled increase for the maximum retirement contributions was 23,963 pesos, which means that the maximum will go from $195,140 to $219,103 per month. This amount will be maintained until June, when the Government evaluates the amount and announces the new quarterly increase.
