The Minister of Government, Carlos Eduardo del Castillo, used almost 50 minutes to explain the entire entry and exit operation of the 478 packages of cocaine, which traveled aboard a Wamos Air company plane to the Barajas airport, in Spain. . The authority raised suspicions regarding an official of that airline, who was in Bolivia between January and March of this year.
“Our country was unaware that the merchandise found in Spain were controlled substances or cocaine. Only at the beginning of May did it become known, unofficially, that this load would be cocaine; all this based on the reports that exist,” said Minister Del Castillo.
On May 30, the Spanish Customs Administrationreported an operation that was carried out in February at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport, where 478 kilos of cocaine were seized, which were in the hold of a flight from the Viru Viru airport.
