President Maduro meets with Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia

In the context of his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting this Monday with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, in the city of Jeddah.

The dialogue aims to deepen the links of strategic association, under the principle of mutual respect and self-determination of the peoples.

On behalf of the Venezuelan delegation, the first combatant and deputy of the National Assembly, Cilia Flores; the Vice President of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez; the Minister of the Office of the Presidency and Monitoring of Government Management, Jorge Márquez; the chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil Pinto; the Minister of Oil, Pedro Tellechea; and the Venezuelan ambassador to Saudi Arabia, David Velásquez.

For its part, the Saudi Arabian delegation is made up of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Faisal Bin Farhan; the Minister of State, Musaad bin Mohammed Al Aiban; the Minister of Sport, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al Faisal; the Minister of the National Guard, Prince Abdullah bin Bandar; the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Abdulrahman Bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fad; Investment Minister Khaled Al Faleh; the Minister of Planning and Economy, Faisal Al Ibrahim; and the director general of the General Intelligence Directorate, Khalid Bin Ali Al Humaidan.

Caracas and Riyadh maintain a long-standing bilateral relationship, consolidated with their participation in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), where both concur as founders.

Venezuela and Saudi Arabia are listed as the countries with the largest proven oil reserves, accounting for more than 300 billion and 298 billion barrels of crude under their surface, respectively.
