The Minister for Foreign Relations, Remigio Ceballos, highlighted the work carried out by the State security forces to dismantle – constantly – the criminal gangs that try to impose themselves on the national territory.
Interviewed by the program freehand, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión; Ceballos stated that “police action is present in the fight against crime.”
He stressed that among the most important vertices of the Peace Quadrants is the fight against corruption, drug trafficking, crime and human trafficking.
“In other words, from the point of view of criminology we are on a par with the best countries in the world,” he said.
Ceballos Ichaso stressed that the security forces are perfecting the forms of action to combat criminal gangs in order to bring peace to the Venezuelan people.
In this sense, he indicated that, recently, a logistics camp that tried to use Venezuela for drug trafficking in the eastern part of the country had just been dismantled.
This Friday, the head of the FANB Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported on the seizure of logistical material used by the Organized Crime Structured Group (Gedo), El Viejo Colombia.
This operation was carried out in Monagas state and was carried out jointly with the FANB, the National Anti-drug Superintendence (Sunad), and the Bolivarian National Police (PNB).
In the operation, they seized three kilos of presumed base for cocaine, more than four thousand liters of gasoline, three boats, seven outboard motors, four tractors, and six power plants.

Defense of human rights and penalization of officials
During the interview, the Minister of Interior stressed that security officials are here to watch over and guarantee the human rights of citizens, so any violation will be penalized.
“We are guarantors of what article 3 of the Constitution says, the essential purposes of the State are the defense and development of the person, respect for their dignity and human rights,” Ceballos stressed.
“When an official commits a criminal act that deserves and that violates any right of any person and any human right, he immediately puts himself at the order of justice,” he added.
In this regard, he stressed that there is “a system of disciplinary inspections”, where officials accused of alleged violation are investigated and “a disciplinary investigation could be carried out immediately and be suspended from office.”
“Once it is shown that he did not have any problems, he is reinstated in his position, but if, on the contrary, it is shown that he committed the fault, he is expelled from the police force,” he stressed.
As part of the protection of the people, the minister referred to the Peace quadrants that were displayed in the Caracas Metro.
In this sense, he stated that “we have achieved the reduction of crime, through the implementation of a special Peace Quadrants.”
National Center for the Control and Coordination before Emergencies and Disasters
On the other hand, the also Sector Vice President for Citizen Security specified that the fourth Tropical Wave will enter the national territory and it is expected that this Saturday it will pass to the east of the country.
For this reason, he stressed the importance of the National Center for Control and Coordination in Emergencies and Disasters, where monitoring is carried out throughout the country to see the areas affected by rain.
“It has a large Situational Room where we monitor all the issues that are occurring and how the tropical waves are moving,” he added during the interview while recalling that 65 tropical waves are expected.
