Venezuela’s peace diplomacy continues to advance with the election by acclamation of the country’s diplomatic officials to important positions in the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).
Through her Twitter account, the venezuelan mission before the multilateral organization. reported that the alternate ambassador Joaquín Pérez, was elected this Thursday to the vice-presidency of the IV Commission of Special Policy and Decolonization of the UN.
Likewise, Counselor Robert Poveda was elected to occupy the Rapporteurship of the III Commission on Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs. While Counselor Jhon Guerra will take charge of the vice-presidency of the VI Commission of Legal Affairs of the organization.
On the same social network, Ambassador Pérez thanked “the trust placed in Venezuela” so that, from the IV Committee of the UN General Assembly, on behalf of our Latin American and Caribbean region, to continue promoting such important causes as decolonization and efforts to end colonialism.
The diplomatic mission affirmed that “faithful to its Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace”, Venezuela is firmly committed to multilateralism and to the United Nations.
