Villa was sentenced to two years and one month in prison for conditional execution (not effective) and to follow a series of rules of conduct during that period, including refrain from any contact with Cortés and his family and from using drugs and abusing alcoholic beverages.

Measures you must comply

The 27-year-old player must also undergo psychosocial treatment and participate in workshops “in order to address his problems.”

The Colombian footballer, who plays in Boca since 2018was subjected to an oral trial since April 17 by the Correctional Court 2, in the Buenos Aires town of Lomas de Zamora.

Six years in prison, maximum sentence

Villa, who was facing a sentence of up to 6 years in prison, had pleaded not guilty during this process that concluded this Friday.

Cortés, who decided not to be present electronically at the reading of the verdict, denounced Villa for assaulting him on April 27, 2020 in the house they shared at the time in the private neighborhood of Saint Thomas, in the Buenos Aires town of Canning.

That same night, Cortés published the images of his injuries on his social networks and the next morning he filed the criminal complaint.

Villa was also denounced by another woman in May 2022 for a second episode of gender violence, which allegedly happened in June 2021, for sexual abuse with carnal access, aggravated by injuries.
