The commercial engineer Alan BarcaI was elected Thursday night as the new president of the Departmental Legislative Assembly (ALD) of Tarija for the period 2023 – 2024.

Barca promised not to stop the management of the Governor Oscar Montes throughout his tenure.

“We have no intention of truncating, We have been doing it and we are going to continue accompanying from this place”, clarified the elected incumbent who obtained 18 votes in his favor with the support of the MAS bench and a faction of UNIDOS.

The UNIDOS assemblyman, Mauricio Lea Plaza, said that betrayal has no justification because it is a matter of principles and ethics.

Barca avoided replying to Lea Plaza, saying that this is not the case and what he is looking for is to give a new look and focus to the Legislative Assembly after two years serving as an assembly member.

“We are living a new stage within the legislative entity and we want to give a new vision and dynamics so that ideas can be debated, without hurting people,” said the president-elect.

Barca is accompanied by Juanita Miranda (MAS) in the first vice presidency; Nicolás Montero (Indigenous) in the second vice presidency; Diego Gutiérrez (Unidos) in the secretariat and Flavia Aparicio (MAS) as a member of the board of directors.
