The Maciel Hospital has been embroiled in a series of controversies since the beginning of this year. First, there arose conflict between anesthetistswhich caused delays and rescheduling in most surgeries and interventions. This situation generated concern in patients and their families, since they had to wait longer to receive the necessary medical treatment.
For all this, the deputy of Town meeting, Martin Sodano, has filed a complaint for alleged crimes in the State Health Services Administration (ASSE). This complaint is specifically addressed to former members of the Maciel Hospital Support Commission, who allegedly committed irregularities in their duties. Sodano personally delivered the formal complaint to the court prosecutor, Juan Gómez.
In addition, ASSE carried out an audit to investigate possible irregularities in the management of the Maciel Hospital Support Commission. This commission was in charge of supervising and providing support in the administration of the hospital. The audit results revealed signs of irregularities in the loan process and in the hiring of staff, which further aggravated the situation at the care center.
Given these circumstances, Deputy Martín Sodano decided to take legal measures and filed a formal complaint with the court prosecutor. Sodano accuses the former members of the Maciel Hospital Support Commission of committing crimes in the exercise of their duties. The complaint has brought the matter to the orbit of the Prosecutor’s Office, who will be in charge of carrying out the corresponding investigation.
