The mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse, criticized the government’s security policy after the murder of the manager of a daddy from Parque Rodó, Marcelo Demestoy, during a robbery.
“The recent event at Parque Rodó is terrible, terrible… No one will ever be able to understand the anguish and pain of a family that happens to them, their companions… Everything, horrible!” reflected the mayor.
And he repeated a concept that he has handled in recent weeks: “It is a government that has no security strategy or course.”
The statements were collected by the journalist Leonardo Sarro on his Twitter account. The mayor added that “the security of Montevideo has been bad for more than 48 hours, it is very bad and it is in all of Montevideo.”
“we are being held hostage of a very big lack of direction, which I hope is found because we are talking about people’s lives,” Cosse commented.
