MADRID, Spain.- The live-action remake of The little Mermaid from Disney, released in theaters this May 26, counts among its voices in the Spanish version the Cuban actor Rone Luis Reinoso Despaigne.
Reinoso Despaigne, an acting graduate from the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) in Havana and who currently lives in Madrid, Spain, gives life to the friendly crab Sebastián.
The acting himself announced it through a publication on his social networks, where he said he was grateful for the opportunity and with the team.
“Happy to be able to put my voice to this character who has always made me smile so much. (…) I hope you enjoy Sebastián”, wrote.
Rone Luis Reinoso has been part of several theater groups on the island, including Teatro el Público and Teatro La Perla.
On television his face has been seen in the soap opera shared beats and in youth serials Zoo and Of love and hope.
While for the big screen he has been part of the cast of films such as Ceiling (Patricia Ramos, 2016) and return to Ithaca (Laurent Cantet, 2014).
By continuing his career as an actor in Spain, he has continued to venture into the theater, where the popular musical show Tub, dedicated to the queen of rock and roll, Tina Turner.
Next July he will premiere in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, the work the celestinewhich he is currently preparing and whose staging is in charge of the Cuban playwright Carlos Diaz.
The little Mermaid, which returns in its “live action” version 35 years after its anime premiere, in its English version has the American Halle Bailey as the protagonist. While in the Spanish dubbing the siren is interpreted by the Spanish singer Mirela Cabero. In this version, the interpretation of Javier Bardem as the father of the little mermaid, King Triton, also stands out.
After only four days of its release, the film dethroned fast and furious 10 at the US box office.
