This Monday the presidents of Venezuela, Nicolás Ripeand from Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will hold a bilateral meeting, with the aim of strengthening and promoting relations of brotherhood and cooperation between both nations.
The meeting is taking place at the Planalto Government Palace, in Brazil, where the leaders will review the cooperation agreements between the two countries, with the goal of building a cooperation map that seeks the development and prosperity of the peoples.
President Maduro was received with honors at the Planalto Palace in the city of Brasilia, Brazil, where he meets his Brazilian counterpart and his wife.
The greeting between the two leaders of Venezuela and Brazil was with a great handshake and marks the beginning of the reestablishment of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Regarding the meeting, the Vice Minister for Latin America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rander Peña, stressed that this meeting will strengthen relations and shows that Brazil is looking south.
“The objective is to have political spaces to discuss the issues that concern us. Both presidents will talk about how to advance in this new stage to allow us as South Americans to put all our possibilities at the disposal of the countries, ”he said.
He also stressed that this meeting seeks to enable the region to have a solid and sustained policy.
Construction of the new world together
This Monday the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, prior to the meeting that he will hold with the president of Brazil, stressed that Venezuela continues on the path of building a world of union.
“Venezuela’s commitment to building a world of union, respect and complementarity is irreversible. We assume the vanguard, with relations that guarantee the development of the towns. Happy start to the week!”, published the Head of State on Twitter.
Arrival in Brazil
After his arrival in Brazil, the President thanked the reception in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, and noted that he will develop an important diplomatic agenda.
“I appreciate the warm welcome with which we were received in Brasilia, capital of the Federative Republic of Brazil. In the next few hours we will be developing a diplomatic agenda that reinforces the necessary union of the peoples of our continent. Stay tuned! ”, He said on the social network.
President Maduro arrived in Brazil this Sunday accompanied by the first combatant, Cilia Flores, and her entourage.
The Secretary for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gisela Padovan, and the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Brazil, Manuel Vadell, received the President along with his entourage.
The Head of State is expected to develop an intense work agenda to update and strengthen the cooperation map between the two countries.
President Nicolás Maduro arrived in the city of Brasilia on an official visit, invited by his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to participate in the Summit of South American Countries, scheduled for Tuesday, May 30.
Venezuela–Brazil relations
Recently, Venezuela and Brazil agreed to reestablish bilateral relations, after the arrival of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to the Presidency of the Amazonian giant.
Relations between the two nations deepened as of 2003, thanks to the South American leaders Hugo Chávez and Lula, but were interrupted in 2019 by decision of the far-right former president Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2022).
The last visit of the Venezuelan President to Brazil was in 2015, when he attended the inauguration for a second term of former President Dilma Rousseff (2011-2016).
On May 19, Venezuela and Brazil reviewed their cooperation agreements and evaluated new proposals. In this regard, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Latin America in the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Rander Peña, specified that bilateral cooperation includes 700 agreements, including political and economic alliances.
