Mexico City, Mexico.- After four months, fighting for his lifeLuis Miguel Bartolo Tamayodriver and paramedic of the ambulance that was attacked in January by a police officer in the city of Guantánamo, died this Sunday
The news was confirmed on networks by friends of the victim and also by the official communicator Miguel Reyes Mendoza. Bartoló died at the “Agostinho Neto” General Teaching Hospital in that city in eastern Cuba.
The paramedic received a gunshot wound, which caused left diaphragmatic paralysis and required several surgeries.
As his state of health did not improve, the specialists decided to subject Bartoló Tamayo to an induced coma, to avoid secondary damage. However, his condition did not present significant improvements.
Luis Miguel Bartoló Tamayo received a gunshot wound on May 5 when a plainclothes motorized police officer fired at an ambulance in which he and the doctor were Damixi Rodriguez Dominguezhead of the Intensive Care Services of the municipal polyclinic, who had been a partner of the attacker.
Rodríguez Domínguez received two bullet wounds to the head and did not respond to resuscitation and intubation, making it impossible to save her. Damixi was, as far as is known, the first femicide reported in Cuba this year of the 31 recorded to date. She was survived by a young daughter.
