With Leslie Amat At the head, six Cuban triathletes will go for medals at the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador 2023, scheduled from June 23 to July 8.

The captain of the men’s squad, Alejando Manuel Rodríguez, is accompanied by Kevin Milián and Jorge Emanuel Alemañez. The coach is Carlos Rafael Rodríguez.
Most “will be rookies in the regional event, but have other international experiences. The most rigorous, the I Junior Pan American Games of Cali-Valle 2021, without relevant results ”, commented to the portal Hit Alejandro Puerto, president of the Cuban federation of this sport and national commissioner.
The group is now at a training base in Cuenca, Ecuador, from where they will return to Havana on June 18, Puerto said.
“In San Salvador 2023 we aspire to obtain a medal in the individual events and by women’s and men’s teams. In addition, we will also opt for medals in the mixed relay. It will be a litmus test for us, but we are optimistic and focused on obtaining the best results,” Amat told the sports media.

The composition of the cast for San Salvador 2023 is similar (three men and the same number of girls) to the one that participated in La playa de Puerto Velero, in Barranquilla, where the Cubans won three bronze medals.
The triathlon of that fair was carried out over 1.5 kilometers of swimming, 40 of cycling and 10 of running, identical to what is required for San Salvador 2023, which will do so where it was held in the 2002 edition, in Costa del Sol, notes the report of Hit.
