Meeting of Fedecámaras in Valencia promotes bilateral trade and investment with Spain

Venezuela and Spain have closed two years of disagreements with the appointment of their respective ambassadors, which marked the beginning of a new stage in relations between Caracas and Madrid.


The Expo Empresarial Fedecámaras Carabobo 2023, held in Valencia until Saturday, May 27, became a platform to promote business opportunities between Venezuela and Spain, according to what he told EFE the market analyst from the Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Caracas, José María Cuyás.

“We are taking a first step to promote bilateral trade and investment between Spain and Venezuela,” Cuyás said, later clarifying that it will be difficult to translate what the meeting will mean and the results it will produce, which will not have an immediate impact.

Cuyás’ presence at the event pursues the objective of publicizing the services offered by both the Spanish embassy and the Venezuelan-Spanish Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Cavespa) to guide import and export operations.

“To us it seems like a great opportunity to participate and learn about the business reality of the country, which is beginning to awaken,” he said.

During the event, which takes place in the Convention Center of the Hesperia WTC Hotel, several business roundtables will be held, attended by business representatives and diplomats from various countries, with whom the possibilities of export and commercial exchange to boost the economy will be discussed. national.

Cavespa CEO Robert Concepcion told EFE that, during the meeting, they will seek to “exalt relations” between the two countries to encourage the opening of “bilateral business.”

It is also proposed, through Cavespa, to generate confidence to “break a bit of the stigma that exists towards investment in Venezuela.”
