During the regular session this Thursday, the National Assembly (AN) He rejected the fact that the United States (USA) questions Venezuela’s commitment in the fight against terrorism and rejected the fact that the North American country includes the Bolivarian Republic and other countries in the supposed list of nations that do not collaborate to confront the crime.
The issue was raised by the first vice-president of the Nation’s Permanent Security and Defense Commission, deputy Gloria Castillowho was emphatic in her rejection of the statement signed by the Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, where it includes Venezuela, in addition to Syria, Iran, North Korea and Cuba.
He recalled that the government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, through a statement issued on May 23, forcefully refuted the aforementioned document and ratified the multilateral responsibility that the nation has on the issue of terrorism.
Castillo indicated that the statement from the Foreign Ministry alludes to the Monroe Doctrine trying to revive the US, to highlight that there are plenty of examples of terrorist practices against the Latin American region that have been protected and encouraged from Washington.
He added that he is concerned that such a sensitive issue is used to indiscriminately accuse Venezuela and other nations. At the same time, he asserted that the Venezuelan people also reject these accusations.
The deputy noted that Venezuela has demonstrated, from Independence to the Bolivarian Revolution, led by the Comodante Hugo Chávez Frías, that the nation is against terrorism.
He maintained that the military institutions constantly fight against the policies of that imperialist doctrine, whose claim is to eliminate the self-determination of the peoples.
