Venezuela will host the Caribbean Regional Seminar on Decolonization which will take place in 2024, confirmed the nation’s Alternate Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Joaquín A. Pérez Ayestarán, who participated in the event in its 2023 edition, in the city of Bali, Indonesia.
This was announced by Pérez Ayestarán via Twitter, where this Friday he published “Faithful to its commitment to the end of colonialism and the realization of the desires for peace, justice and freedom of the peoples who continue to be subjugated, Venezuela announced today, from Bali, its decision to host the Caribbean Regional Seminar on Decolonization in 2024”.
In another tweet, Pérez Ayestarán thanked, among others, Angola, Algeria, Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Cuba, Dominica, Namibia, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Russia, Syria, South Africa, Timor Oriental, Zimbabwe, “as well as the Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24) for their support for the Venezuelan initiative,” he pointed out.
On Thursday, during his speech at the seminar, the ambassador ratified the Venezuela’s commitment to the just struggles of the peoples of Puerto Rico, Guam and New Caledonia for the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination and the pursuit of their legitimate national aspirations.
“Today we ratify, among others, Venezuela’s commitment to the just struggles of the peoples of Puerto Rico, Guam, and New Caledonia for the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination and the achievement of their legitimate national aspirations,” he said.
