A new complaint for pedophilia was filed this Thursday before the Public Ministry of Cochabamba and this time the defendant is the Jesuit Jorge Vila Despujol, who died in Barcelona, Spain, in 2012.
“This is the second victim who formalizes his complaint with the psychological and legal support of the listening and attention channel of the Society of Jesus. Another one was made in Santa Cruz on May 19 against Alfonso Pedrajas (who is also deceased)”, indicates an informative note from said religious institution.
In this new case it is indicated that Vila “would have made immodest touches” in an educational unit from the city of Cochabamba to the complainant when he was only 13 years old in the early 1990s.
According to the Society of Jesus, the denounced priest “collaborated” in said educational institution and he was also the founder of the Defense of Boys and Girls International in Bolivia (DNI-Bolivia).
The identity of the complainant, who appeared before the Cochabamba Departmental Prosecutor’s Office, remains confidential, as well as other victims.
However, it is known that this new victim communicated a few days ago with the listening and attention channel of the Society of Jesus to make his case known.
These complaints and others made official in different regions of the country arise after the disclosure of the Diary of the pedophile priest Alfonso ‘Pica’ Pedrajas.
Pica in his writings had acknowledged having abused dozens of children and had even recounted how some priests covered up their crimes.
