José Ángel de la Cruz, 59, was captured by the Cicpc-El Llanito, after discovering that he allegedly committed sexual abuse against his niece, now nine years old, according to judicial sources.
The events occurred in the family home where the father, mother, four siblings (three boys and one girl) live, located on El Rosario avenue, El Amparo subdivision, Los Chorros urbanization, Sucre municipality (Miranda).
The girl lived in that house, who is the daughter of one of the men in the family.
Everything was discovered because the girl’s caregiver took her to a hospital to treat an alleged infection that she had in her private parts.
At that hospital, a nurse who suspected what had happened alerted the caregiver to go to a legal agency for the protection of children and adolescents. She did so, and from there they referred her to the cicpc-El Llanito from where a preliminary investigation was activated that led to the arrest of José Ángel de la Cruz Rodríguez, who was subsequently charged by the Public Ministry.
Forensic examinations concluded that the girl had been sexually abused for approximately five years, which caused infections.
