President of Mexico thanks Peru for naming him persona non grata

Judith Pena | May 23, 2023

The Foreign Relations Commission of the Peruvian Congress approved a motion to declare the President of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) persona non grata.

Faced with this declaration, this morning during a press conference López Obrador thanked the Peruvian government for having declared him persona non grata.

“Thank you very much for declaring me persona non grata, because I would feel bad if those legislators and the lady who holds power gave me an award and applauded me, I would be ashamed,” he said.
