They seek to favor beneficiaries of the Government’s Social Programs

SIUBEN agrees with the CNE to periodically update the database of households located in communities isolated from electricity networks.

The National Energy Commission (CNE) and the Single System of Beneficiaries (SIUBEN) signed this Wednesday an inter-institutional cooperation framework agreement that aims to combine efforts, resources, knowledge and skills, to improve and update the information available in the databases of the Beneficiary Registries to Social programs of homes located in communities isolated from electricity grids.

The cooperation agreement between the two public institutions was signed by Edward Veras Díaz, Executive Director of the CNE, and Jefrey Lizardo, General Director of SIUBEN, during a ceremony held at the commission’s headquarters.

Veras Díaz, meant that the agreement signed with SIUBEN, a government institution attached to the Cabinet for the Coordination of Social Policies, also has the purpose of serving as a basis for designing and implementing effective social protection programs that promote human development and well-being of the communities.

He indicated that, in order to carry out the agreed actions, SIUBEN undertakes to provide the CNE with the available socioeconomic data of households located in communities isolated from the electrical networks and to carry out a survey of households that are not registered in the database. of SIUBEN data in these isolated communities, which will be prioritized by the commission.

He specified that, in addition, SIUBEN agrees with the CNE to periodically update the database of households located in communities isolated from electricity networks.

The official reported that the CNE is committed to contributing to EL SIUBEN in the formation of the Universal Social Registry of Homes and the Single Registry of beneficiaries, through the delivery of information on the population that has been a beneficiary of the projects and programs developed by the National Energy Commission to update their records.

He stated that the CNE will work to strengthen interoperability, by coordinating the exchange of database records for the strengthening of the information system, in support of SIUBEN as a national data reference entity for decision-making that promotes the development of Dominican society and the efficient use of resources from social protection programs.

He communicated that the parties also commit to establish an interoperability protocol and make the adjustments required for the exchange of information and to exchange good practices and study methodologies, such as surveys, in order to identify possible areas of joint work.

Likewise, he stated that SIUBEN and the CNE agreed to establish institutional and technological mechanisms to guarantee the interconnection of the databases of both public institutions.
