The President of the Republic has already announced that the next Accountability will focus on addictions and mental health

The next Accountability will be the last with increased spending by the government of Luis Lacalle Pou. This Monday the Court prosecutor, Juan Gómez, met with the president in the Executive Tower and proposed the creation of more prosecutors in Montevideo and the interior of the country.
As Gómez commented at a press conference, there is “some hope” that the Executive Power meets the requests of the Attorney General’s Officefor being the last Accountability with an increase in spending of this administration.
“The creation of two prosecutors dedicated exclusively to sexual abusefor understanding that those currently in Montevideo are absolutely overloaded,” was one of the main requests, Gómez said at a press conference reported by Underlined (Channel 10).
In addition, it was requested creation of prosecution offices for execution in Montevideo and Caneloneswho are in charge of situations related to probation and transitory freedom.
Other of Gómez’s proposals was the creation of prosecutor’s offices in the interior of the country where there is a single shift, the creation of a prosecutor’s office based on gender violence in the department of Paysandú and maintain the salary equalization of the officials of the Prosecutor’s Office.
