The Domingo Savio Private University (UPDS) will present the UPDS Prize for Journalistic Merit for the first time. The delivery of the statuette will take place in a special ceremony that will be held at the University facilities. Among the prominent professionals is Guider Arancibia, journalist for EL DEBER.
“The UPDS Prize for Journalistic Merit is a recognition of the work of journalists who have shown a high level of commitment and dedication to their work, seeking to inform society truthfully and courageouslysays Paola Pericón de Chazal, regional rector of the UPDS Santa Cruz.
The categories and winners of this award are:
Recognition for Best Journalistic Career, for Fernando Nürnberg Zambrana.Best Written Press Journalist for Guider Arancibia Guillén; the best radio journalist for Jimena Antelo Telchi; award for the best television journalist, Gabriela Oviedo Serrate; and to the best journalist in digital media, Maggy Talavera Román.To define the winners, the university conducted a survey within the community with a selection of names suggested by the College of Communication professionals from Santa Cruz and from the Santa Cruz Association of Journalists.
More than 1,500 people including teachers, administrators and students participated in the vote.
