Indigenous captains of the Amazon and FANB act against illegal mining

Indigenous captains from the Amazon join the task, together with the troops of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) and the Rapid Reaction Unit (URRA) of the Portuguesa state, to eliminate the camps dedicated to illegal mining practices, destroying the ecosystems of the national territory.

On this occasion, the indigenous captains together with the FANB and the URRA of the Portuguesa state dismantled and seized materials used for illegal mining in the community of Puerto El Limón, in the state of Amazonas.

The information was released by the head of the FANB Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez, who explained that the indigenous groups have assumed, together with the military, the task of caring for the vegetation layer and nature.

In a video posted on Twitter by the Chief of Ceofanb, the indigenous chief captain of the community of El Palmar, in the state of Amazonas, Daniel Moreno, expressed his gratitude to the FANB for carrying out actions that protect the environment.

“We are here in the Puerto Limón community working together with the FANB and the URRA of the Portuguesa state. Thanks to them this afternoon there is an effort to protect the environment, thanks to the captains exercising their duty and right to enforce respect for the environment”, he said.

They located illegal mining devices

During the procedure, the military and the indigenous captains located and seized engines, power plants, snails, hoses, fuel, among other materials, the Chief of Ceofanb detailed on the social network.

“The FANB will not stop until it fully fulfills the entrusted task of dismantling the territory of illegal mining camps and reforesting the territories devastated by the invaders,” he stressed.

“URRA @ZODI_Portuguesa during the day has located twelve (12) illegal mining devices that predator the environment such as engines, plants, snails, hoses, fuel and others. The #FANB will not stop until it fully fulfills the entrusted task of dismantling the territory of illegal mining camps and reforesting the territories devastated by unscrupulous invaders who do not respect territorial ordering or national laws,” Hernández Lárez said on Twitter.

FANB maintains active actions in defense of the Homeland

For his part, the commander of the ZODI-Portuguesa, Division General José Gregorio Escalona Briceño, affirmed that through the Territorial Defensive System of the FANB, the actions that are warranted for the defense of the Homeland in the territory of the state of Amazonas are maintained. , in a video posted by Hernández Lárez.

The statements of the Commander of the ZODI-Portuguesa were made “headed for the Puerto Limón mine in the state of Amazonas, to dismantle the camps established in that Amazonian sector.”

Likewise, Hernández Lárez stressed that the work in defense of ecosystems in the state of Amazonas has the ZODI-Portuguesa with its Commander at the helm.

“The @ZODI_Portuguesa with its Commander at the fore in the exercise of national sovereignty, dismantling the illegal mining structures installed by transnational criminal groups in the state of Amazonas,” he added on Twitter.

ZODI-Zulia added to the action

The head of Ceofanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez, also reported that the Rapid Reaction Unit (URRA) of Zulia state was deployed in the Yapacana National Park, to exercise sovereignty.

In this procedure, the FANB dismantled the “Moyo” Mine, in the Atabapo municipality, Amazonas state, as part of “Operation Autana 2023”.

“URRA @zodizulia in Yapacana, exercising popular sovereignty. National laws establish that no type of human activity can be carried out in National Parks, much less the establishment of illegal mining, pollution and environmental depredation structures,” said Hernanández Lárez.

Zodi-Zulia carries out search, localization and cutting deployments of illegal mining activities in the state of Amazonas.

Venezuela free of illegal mining camps

After this new discovery and dismantling of another illegal camp, the Chief of Ceofanb emphasized that in Venezuela the construction of structures that threaten the environment will not be allowed.

“Ignorance of the law does not excuse its compliance. Venezuela is a territory of Peace, the construction of structures of environmental depredation in the security and national defense zones will not be allowed, ”he remarked.

FANB guarantor of the ecosystems

The FANB remains active and in combat against irregular groups that intend to commit actions that threaten the country’s ecosystem.

On repeated occasions, the head of Ceofanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez, indicates that “National Parks, Natural Monuments and Forest Reserves are protected areas of the State, natural depredation is prohibited. It is a citizen duty to take care of the natural environment and biodiversity”.
