45% have already completed the 2023 Census digitally: see how long there is time

The 2023 digital census began: who can complete it and when will face-to-face visits begin?

The National Institute of Statistics (INE) reported that 45% of Uruguayans completed the 2023 Census digitally until this Friday.

The deadline to answer the online questionnaire expires next Monday, May 22. Initially it was going to be May 17 at 11:59 p.m. but the authorities decided to extend the deadline due to the high demand registered to complete the form, which was released on April 29 at 9:00 p.m.

Maldonado is the department that leads the list of departments with the highest level of response to the digital census, with 46% or more of the population completing the digital form. They are followed by the departments of Montevideo, Canelones, Colonia and Flores.

The group of departments that remains with the lowest census population is made up of Treinta y Tres, Cerro Largo, Rivera and Artigas, with a percentage that goes between 30 to 35% of registered.

The census in its digital format ends this Monday, May 22. In case of exceeding 50% of those registered, Uruguay would reach the highest digital response rate of a census in Latin Americaalong with Argentina.
