The Defensorial delegate in Chuquisaca, Humberto Mayorga, revealed that this institution is aware of a second complaint of sexual abuse that involves a priest who was a formator at the San Cristóbal seminary de Sucre, whose alleged victim was a seminarian in 1996. This reported the incident to the ecclesiastical authorities. Mayorga pointed out that they relocated the priest to another ecclesiastical jurisdiction.

The official affirmed that the complainant of this fact is a third person, who refers to the initials of the victim seminarian. The complainant went to the telephone number authorized by the Ombudsman to denounce acts of rape of priests.

Mayorga said that are looking for the right channels to reach this person and avoid their re-victimization.

“It is not an easy task, efforts must be made to contact the victim, enable the channels to reach this person; We do not know, for now, the whereabouts of this victimif he is in Sucre, if he finished this path started (of the priesthood) or if he is in another department, “he said.

The official indicated that the complaint was known at the end of Thursday afternoon, through the telephone enabled to receive complaints from victims of rape cases. He clarified that in Chuquisaca there are two victims of abuse sexual.

The first complaint received by the Ombudsman, to the telephone line set up for this purpose, occurred on May 17. It refers to a priest, who allegedly committed sexual abuse against disabled minors, when he was performing his duties in the city of Sucre.
