Until Thursday, May 25, at 3:00 p.m., public servants can apply for the 10 places available for Master’s degrees and 5 places for Doctorates abroad granted by the “Don Carlos Antonio” National Graduate Scholarship Program Abroad López” (BECAL), dependent on the Ministry of Finance.
The thematic scholarships aim strengthen the performance of public servants in areas of economic development, public health and security.

The eligible areas by thematic axes referring to Public health they include Hematology, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Critical Medicine, Pediatric Cardiology, Endocrinology, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Emergentology, Intensive Care for Adults, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Pediatric Intensive Care, Pediatric Heart Surgery;
In addition, it includes Pediatric Rheumatology, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Project Management, Family and Community Medicine with an Emphasis in Management, Hospital Administration and Management, and Geriatrics.
In the area of National security it is foreseen for Strategic Planning, Criminal Investigation, and Cybersecurity; while in Economic Development those related to Administration and Management of Public Resources, Planning and Sustainable Development, Public Policy, Agricultural Development, Strategic Planning, Modernization and Public Innovation, Economic Policy, Fiscal Policy, and Cybersecurity.
The destination university Applicant must be ranked among the top 300 in the world.
There is no age limit for applications and there are training opportunities for all permanent public servants who are currently providing services in any of the eligible public institutions and meet the general and specific requirements determined in the call.
