The ruler Nicolás Maduro reported the Monday May 1 that the food ticket or “cestaticket” increased to 40 dollars and that it would be indexed to the official exchange rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV). He also approved a $20 “economic warfare bond” to bring that “bonus” and indexed income to a total of $60.
The new dollarized amounts have no salary incidence. The cestaticket must be paid to public employees and in the private sector, but the allocation of the “economic war bond” is intended only for those enrolled in the Patria system.
A day latersigned the decree increasing the war bond to $30.

That same day, Francisco Torrealba wrote on his social networks that the increase in the bonuses indicated by Maduro also includes retirees and pensioners of the IVSS, leaving them at $49 per month indexed plus their retirement of 130 bolivars for the former, and at $20 per month plus the pension of 130 bolivars for the latter.
But he did not say how they were going to pay them.
Almost 15 days later After the announcements, the Extraordinary Official Gazette No. 6,746, dated May 1, 2023, appeared, where the government of Nicolás Maduro established the increase in the cestaticket and the Economic Warfare bond, the amounts of which may vary monthly depending on the type of change –which is not clear if they are dollars– published by the Central Bank of Venezuela and if so established by the Executive.
In article 1 of Decree No. 4,805, the new amount of the cestaticket (1,000 bolivars) was established for workers in the public administration and the private sector; while the Economic War bonus will be paid monthly only to public sector workers, both active and retired, as well as pensioners of the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security.
