The National Director of Engineering and Architecture of the Ministry of Education (Meduca), Fanny Solís, announced that the entity is in the process of purchasing 55 new modular classrooms for schools with the highest demand in East Panama, such as Tocumen and Paso Blanco, also in West Panama and the Ngäbe Buglé region.
At an approximate cost of 1.2 million balboas, material was purchased to install the 55 modular classrooms that will house approximately 4,000 students from schools that have increased enrollment in Panama West, North, East and due to the need for deteriorated classrooms in the region Ngäbe Buglé and Darien.
Solís thanked the collaboration of the Embassy of the United States and the Southern Command that, through Operation Mercury, with the Humanitarian Aid program, collaborate with the mobilization of materials to areas of difficult access.
The Director of Engineering and Architecture explained that, in the last 4 years, investment projects have continued and Meduca managed to deliver 110 educational centers, with their improvements and new buildings to improve the quality of learning in optimal conditions.
He stressed that seven educational projects, during this government administration, have been ordered to proceed and delivered to their final recipients, students and teachers, in a timely manner.
This administration acquired the commitments for the conclusion of the projects and there are 105 educational centers in execution throughout the national territory, in which regions of Panama West, Colón, Veraguas and the Ngäbe Buglé region stand out.
