The general assembly of the Association of Workers and Employees of Conaprole (AOEC) decided to reject the position of the company, which it accused of “imposing new forms of work that do not agree with the historical agreements between AOEC and Conaprole on new technologies”.
The conflict that has already extended for several weeksby which AOEC has applied union measures since Tuesday of last week (work to regulation and stoppages in shifts), It is motivated by an investment of US$ 4.5 million that Conaprole made in a new ultra-pasteurized dairy packaging machine and the way to operate ita technology that began operating in January of this year at the Rodríguez plant in San José.
In that town the assembly was held this Thursday and, at the same time, there were delays in the receipt of raw materiala consequence of the fact that there was only one union guard while the workers’ meeting was held for several hours.
This made Conaprole sources warn, in dialogue with The Observer, the short-term occurrence of difficulties to normally comply with the receipt of raw materials and supplies and the supply of dairy products to the internal market.
In this area, among other considerations that can be seen below, AOEC decided to demand the immediate reinstatement of UHT Rodríguez workers; carry out three hours of unemployment per week; carry out flyers and mobilizations; affect exports; request an urgent meeting with the Minister of Labor and Social Security; and request meetings with producer unions, in parliament, in departmental governments, in departmental boards and ministries.
The instance was also used to expose the adhesion and call for the 28th March of Silence, scheduled for this May 20 in Montevideo.
