The inhabitants of the department of León feel insecure. They can’t stand the robberies that take place in the streets of the city, which in most cases go unpunished because the Police don’t catch those responsible. “Insecurity rules here,” they complain.
The latest robbery that has sown anxiety among the people of Leon is the theft of 30 cell phones from a store. The event occurred at night and despite the fact that the offender was recorded, the Police have not been able to capture the criminal and have not even circulated it.
The assaulted business is located near the bus terminal in the department of León and in the video, a person between 40 and 50 years of age, of stature, without a mask and without a shirt, who wears shorts, can be seen inside the premises , choosing the cell phones with which he loaded.

“They steal at all hours, there is a lot of insecurity and the Police do nothing, patrols have decreased and despite the fact that criminals are often identified, there are no catches,” denounced a citizen.
“Walk carefully”
The residents presume that the increase in insecurity is due to the number of convicts that have been released through pardons granted by the Daniel Ortega regime. “Now we have to be careful, not even with security cameras can robberies be avoided, we are going from bad to worse,” criticized another citizen.
Some Leonese also complain, on social networks, about police action. They point out that, when they go to the police stations to file a complaint, they perceive little interest from the agents in resolving the cases.
However, General Commissioner Fidel Domínguez, head of the León Police, reported earlier this week that a total of 19 criminals were captured in the different municipalities of the department.
According to the information provided by Domínguez, who has been accused of persecuting opponents of the department, more than because of his police efficiency, 17 of the criminals arrested belong to the municipality of León, while two of them were detained in the municipality of Santa Rosa del Penon.
Of the 19 criminals, five were arrested for assaulting women, said the police chief, who did not explain how many of the detainees are accused of committing robberies in the department. The owners of the robbed store, for their part, offer a reward to whoever gives them information that leads to the whereabouts of the subject who has left them with great economic losses.
