President-elect Santiago Peña met today with the diplomatic corps of the Apostolic Nunciature, with whom he shared his vision of the Government and confirmed that the most vulnerable sectors will form part of his priorities.
Members of the Diplomatic Corps of the Apostolic Nunciature, home of Pope Francis in Asunción, received this Thursday President-elect Santiago Peña and his entourage, to talk and exchange views on the future of the country.
On the occasion, Peña listened to nuncio Eliseo Ariotti and also answered his questions regarding the plans he intends to implement during his administration.
“We are going to work so that public policy feels in the pocket of the people, and this is done with immediate measures, such as through the reduction of costs where the state has influence, the price of gas, fuel, of public transportall Paraguayans want to be better and want the state to help them,” said Peña.
The diplomatic corps of the Apostolic Nunciature received the president-elect.

On this point, he stated that the one who walks wants to run and the one who runs wants to fly, but that, first of all, there will be the one who is still beginning to crawl.
“The first policies are going to be focused on how to alleviate the burden for the most vulnerable sectors and for that well-being to be sustainable over time. The one who does not have a job should have a better one, ”he added.
Regarding the way in which he will administer the State, he announced that advocate for dialogue within political forceswith an openness to all, without discussions from the left or the right, but looking forward in the search for progress.
He advanced that, it will keep what worked in this government and discard what failedalways aiming to build discourses of unity and not hate, through the ability to listen and understand each other.
He was accompanied by the Vice President-elect Pedro Alliana, the members of the transition team, Lea Giménez and José Alberto Alderete. In addition, the adviser on international affairs, Rubén Ramírez.
