Pedro Eusse, from the PCV Political Bureau, warns that the new Official Gazette is the “death certificate of the minimum wage” in the country and, furthermore, warns that this document does not ensure the indexation of bonds, as Maduro promised. For this reason, he once again invites the streets to continue protesting for their rights.
The national secretary for the Labor and Union Movement of the Communist Party of Venezuela (CVP), Pedro Eusse, alerted on Tuesday May 16 that the Extraordinary Official Gazette Number 6,746, where the increase in the food bonus and the “economic warfare” was published, sets aside the indexation of the same that President Nicolás Maduro promised on Labor Day.
“We already knew that it was going to be like that; We denounce it: the expression indexation was nothing more than a manipulation to create a false expectation in the Venezuelan working class, because what the Gazette says is that the Government may or may not adjust the bonds; but that in no way constitutes indexing, even remotely,” said Eusse.
For this reason, the PCV described this new Gazette as “the death certificate of the minimum wage in the country”, since in its opinion the minimum wage is definitively frozen at 130 bolivars with the increase to 1,000 of the food bonus and 750 the war bond.

The monthly adjustment of the amounts set for the cestaticket and the Economic War bond, which are at the discretion of the Executive, will be made “taking as reference the exchange rate published by the Central Bank of Venezuela.”
But the Gaceta does not clarify what the exchange rate is (euros, dollars) or the date that the Maduro cabinet will establish to make the adjustments.
He pointed out that these measures negatively affect retirees and pensioners. To do this, the PCV assures that the “indignation” that was generated after learning of the increases in income must be used, as the administration of Nicolás Maduro tells it, to go out again with more determination and face the destruction of wages. .
Pedro Eusse recalled that the measure announced by the Executive is not new because it is something they have been doing since 2016 by subsidizing income and reducing the weight of Venezuelan wages.
“Today only 7% of the income is salary compared to approximately 93% of bonuses; remuneration that will not have an impact on vacations, profits or social benefits. In other words, the assets of the working family are being destroyed, ”she explained.

The PCV maintains that the fight for the indexation of salaries and pensions must continue so that they cover the basic food basket which, according to various economic organizations, is around 600 dollars according to their calculations; something that for the Executive is impossible to fulfill.
He also gave a boost to the Sidor workerswho “expelled” representatives of the Bolivarian Socialist Central of Workers (CBST) for considering them enemies of the workers and collaborators of the ruling party.
“These trade unionists come to talk to the workers who have been victims of their deal with the government and its neoliberal policies that in the end, by the way, serve Fedecámaras and the oligarchy,” said Eusse.
