During his routine speech on Monday, Murillo announced the “laying of the first stone” of what will be the Hotel and resort Nakewe and this Tuesday he repeated his announcement, which was echoed by all the official propaganda media. Already before, on April 20, he had mentioned said project.
Despite the hype about the new investment, only low-level regime officials attended the first block placement activity. No recognized businessman can be seen in the published photos, only the Director of Tourism, Anasha Campbell, the San Carrileño mayor and departmental political secretary of the FSLN, Jhony Gutiérrez, are seen, accompanied by the police chief in that department and two other people who are not even mentioned in the official notes.
That investment is “crazy,” says businessman
According to Murillo, the tourism project is being carried out by Grupo MAG-Santa Fe. The name of this business group, according to various profiles on the internet, is related to the Santa Fe hacienda, located in Melchorita, in San Carlos, and is where they have investments. the Pellas. Luis Coronel, former mayor of San Carlos and former representative for the Sandinista Front, worked for that company as an employee of that business group.
The deputy dictator explained that the hotel will have “single and double cabins, a restaurant area, a specialized health care area, trails. It is being developed by Grupo Mag Santa Fe, from Hacienda Santa Fe”.
That investment at this time, “is crazy,” said a businessman who has invested in tourism in the San Juan River and who, to avoid retaliation, asked not to reveal his identity.
