In a game that was broadcast by National Radio, Vasco defeated Portuguesa by 1 to 0, this Wednesday (9) at São Januário stadium, for the 5th round of the Guanabara Cup of the Carioca Championship. With this result, Cruzmaltino took the lead in the competition with 13 points.

After a first half of little productivity, Cruzmaltino improved after the break and secured the victory in the 30th minute, when Nenê effectively took a penalty. With this goal, the veteran midfielder isolated himself in the top scorer of the competition with 4 goals scored.
Vasco’s next challenge in the competition will be the classic against Botafogo, on Sunday (13). On the same day, Portuguesa measures forces with Fluminense.
