Vicente Ferreira Rivera defended his choice as president of the Assembly of the Guaraní People (APG) – National, and assured that it was a transparent and legitimate call which took place on April 22 at the facilities of the Casa Grande del Pueblo Guaraní, in the municipality of Camiri in the department of Santa Cruz.
Ferreira’s statement comes after On Saturday, March 13, a second assembly was held in the same infrastructure where the heads of the different departments of the National APG were elected and that it was marred by the incidents that were registered among the people who follow Mburuvicha Modesta Santiesteban and Ferreira.
“There are not two directories, Sister Modesta has finished her management a while ago, according to the statutes. Everyone knows that I am the president because the captaincies of Chuquisaca, Tarija and Santa Cruz met in the assembly, there is no way to go wrong, ”said Ferreira in contact with EL DEBER.
In conversation with this journalistic house, Adhemar Flores, adviser to the Council of Captains of the APG of Santa Cruz, stated that the last national assemblies are valid because were convened by the three Councils of Captains and they were attended by the bases and community captains, as well as former presidents of the Guaraní Assembly as witnesses and observers of the process.
“If Cidob was the one calling this meeting, it would not be legal, but in this case it was called by the three councils of captains because they can summon ”, he stressed.
Ferreira announced that in this week they will take possession of the offices of the Casa Grande del Pueblo Guaraníwhich he assures is abandoned, to start planning with the three departmental councils and start the life plan of the Guarani nation.
“This coming week we will take over the infrastructure. I will not be the only one who carries out the tasks, Cidob will also be in the lead, ”she said.
Finally, he indicated that once he concludes his two years in office call for a new board electionaccording to the rules of the organization.
The board of directors is made up of Vicente Ferreira as president of the APG; Ambrosio Chuquinia, Vice President; Julio Galves, Head of Infrastructure; Angelina Ríos, head of Health; Milena Martínez, responsible for Education and Culture; Olver Martínez, responsible for Land and Territories, among others.
Flores noted that in said calls heThe community members approved the revocation Ramiro Valle and his deputy Cristina Changaray from the assembly seat, because allegedly they did not comply with their functions issued by the bases.
