Jasiel Rivero in the second round of the Basketball Eurocup

The Cuban Jasiel Rivero had a good contribution today in the ninth victory of Valencia Basket to ensure the round of 16 of the Basketball Eurocup.

In a game without many demands, Rivero scored seven points to contribute to the 88-73 victory over Virtus Segafredo Bologna of Italy, a duel corresponding to day 13 in group B.

The Cuban was only for 18:41 minutes at the La Fonteta court, where the local winners managed the quarters. After winning the opening game 24-17 and losing the following 16-21 and 12-25, they had a dominant 31-14 finish.

In a distributed work, the Havana power forward influenced the dominance of rebounds by the taronjas by capturing eight of the total of 47, while the rivals only took 33.

With this result, those led by Joan Peñarroya have a balance of 9-4 to remain second in the group. When only five of the 18 rounds remain, they are already classified among the eight teams for the next phase.

The format of the competition is planned for the stage between the best 16 from April 19 with direct elimination clashes in a crossed way between the two sections.

In other words, if Valencia finished second then they would see on that date the seventh in A, now occupied by Turk Telecom Ankara (6-5) from Turkey.

The quarterfinals will take place on the 26th and 27th of that month, while the semifinals will take place on May 3rd and 4th and the title discussion on the following 11th.
