A of the Bolivian Workers Central (COB) resolved to demand the change of some ministers and the head of the portfolio of the Presidency, María Nela Prada, reminded them this Saturday that this decision is the responsibility of President Luis Arce, although she also clarified that the Government does listen to social organizations.

The enlargement of the COB was held in the city of Trinidad, department of Beni, on May 9, and the document with the resolution of said meeting was published on Friday night.

In said document, the COB –which is one of the organizations that openly supports the Government– recalls that two and a half years have passed since the administration of President Luis Arce and that during that period it was possible to “notice and observe the work carried out by the different ministries.

“And in that sense We demand from our government authorities the immediate, urgent and necessary evaluation of the ministers and ministers (…) with the participation of the sectors and representatives affiliated with the COB to carry out the change of several of them that today they are damaging our process and make our government look bad,” he cites part of the resolution.

Minister Prada, when asked about said resolution, affirmed that the Government listens to social organizations, but that “ultimately” is President Arce“within the framework of its powers, who has the competition and final decision to evaluate the management of the ministers and define the change of the same”.

The COB requirement arises after it was discovered that the government of Luis Arce had delivered stolen cars in Chile as donations and after an alleged collection of bribes for the now former Minister of Environment and Water, Juan Santos Cruz, was reported.

But, “in this case referring to the fact of corruption, President Arce’s policy is zero tolerance for corruption wherever the corresponding cases are identified,” added Prada.
